“Plan Your Career” Workshops

Even though the university is supposed to prepare you for professional life, it can be pretty difficult to start without knowing what jobs you will enjoy, which ones you can realistically apply for and perform well in, and many other aspects that go into your career - a journey that will send you to unexpected places, might bring you unprecedented stress and accomplishment, and will hopefully result in a better world.

This series of workshops is for all students, graduates, or younger professionals who are still wondering how to have a positive impact with their careers.

All sessions will be hosted at the THEA Hub in The Hague (Prinsessegracht 6b, 2514 AN Den Haag). Lunch or dinner is included. There is a maximum of 20 people for each session, so sign up early to reserve a spot. We expect you to come if you reserved a spot, get in touch if you unfortunately have to cancel (info@thehagueea.org).

Programme 🗓️

Session 1: Why a Career Should Have a Direction, Not a Goal.

With Shoshannah Tekofsky, an extravagant data scientist and excellent Substack author. Also, we will connect you to professional members of the EA Community to give you personal advice and opportunities to learn from other people's experiences.

> Saturday, February 22nd, 11:00-16:00, including lunch!

Session 2: Know Thyself: Linking Your Complex Personality and Very Cliche Job Descriptions.

With Jasper Stammes, a fresh Dutch civil servant, and organizer at THEA.

> Wednesday, March 5th, 18:00-20:30, including dinner!

Session 3: Sailing the Stormy Seas: How to Decide Between Infinitely Many Opportunities.

With Lisa Gotoh, who has 7+ years of experience in the Dutch Foreign Office, including in the Middle East, the United Nations, and The Hague.

> Wednesday, March 19th, 18:00-20:30, including dinner!

Naturally, 3 sessions will not be enough to bring you everything you wish for: you still need to find opportunities, and will probably get rejected many times - that's completely okay. You may hate us for making things sound easy, but we’re aware they are not: that’s why we hope our workshops will provide some support through the first steps of your career journey :)
